NAIMA (the North American Institute of Medical Aesthetics) is a professional training and certification provider for medical and aesthetic practitioners, with 15,000+ graduates and 22 listed instructors. In Vancouver, NAIMA trains at its West Coast training location.

NAIMA describes its approach as "medical aesthetics education that connects knowledge with hands-on practice." The program areas on NAIMA's site are:

  • Injectables: neuromodulators, fillers and advanced injection techniques
  • Medical and Regenerative Medicine: PRP, hormone health and regenerative clinical training
  • Masterclasses: focused learning for a clinical specialty

Where is NAIMA's Vancouver training held?

NAIMA's West Coast training location is at 3609 W 16th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6R 3C3, and the local phone number is 604-259-6571. NAIMA asks students to "confirm the venue and available training dates with admissions before making travel arrangements."

The Vancouver location serves professionals across the Lower Mainland. If you practise in Burnaby, Surrey, Richmond, North Vancouver or Coquitlam, you can plan a day trip by car or transit for each training day. Clinicians coming from Victoria or Kelowna usually build in travel time and an overnight stay, since courses run over full days. Book travel only after admissions confirms your seat and date.

Which aesthetic courses can you take in Vancouver?

The core pathway is neuromodulators first, then dermal fillers, with the 8-Day Preceptorship Program as an all-in-one option. Masterclasses cover specialty techniques, regenerative medicine and men's health. The table shows what NAIMA's course pages state, and every course listed runs in Vancouver.

How much do aesthetic courses cost in Vancouver?

At NAIMA, tuition for the courses in this guide ranges from CAD $2,000 for the PRP Hair & Face Masterclass to CAD $9,995 for the 8-Day Preceptorship Program. The Neuromodulators Certification is CAD $2,500 and the Dermal Filler Certification is CAD $4,500.

You have three ways to pay:

  1. Upfront at enrolment.
  2. Four bi-weekly instalments, which NAIMA's FAQ confirms for preceptorship, certification courses and masterclasses.
  3. Humm financing through NAIMA's financing page: "flexible financing up to $30,000" for tuition and materials, up to 5 years in equal monthly payments, "0% interest rate on eligible loans," early repayment without penalty, and a credit decision in "less than 7 minutes." Humm confirms approval, rates and terms at application.

One practical point: online card checkout does not submit a Humm application. Contact admissions first to arrange financing, review Humm's terms, then confirm your enrolment.

Refunds and rescheduling: NAIMA's refund policy says students in Certification Courses get a full refund with written notice 30 days before the class starts. There is no partial refund policy. Enrolled students may reschedule to any course with 15 days' notice before the class starts.

Who can enrol in NAIMA's Vancouver courses?

NAIMA's FAQ says licensed medical practitioners can enrol in a certification course, a masterclass or the hands-on preceptorship. It lists physicians, surgeons, nurse practitioners, RNs, LPNs, RPNs and internationally trained medical graduates, and NAIMA's about page also names dentists.

Course pages do not set course-specific prerequisites. They say entry requirements and practical training vary by program and that admissions can confirm your eligibility. Book a call before you pay.

Enrolling and practising are two different questions. A NAIMA certificate is education. It does not by itself authorize anyone to inject in British Columbia. Your authority to practise comes from your BC regulatory college, which is covered next.

Who can inject Botox (neuromodulators) and fillers in British Columbia?

Under current BC rules, physicians and nurse practitioners can inject within their scope. RNs, RPNs and LPNs can inject only under a client-specific order, with the ordering professional present at the facility. Estheticians and other unlicensed people cannot. BC health professions have been regulated under the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) since April 1, 2026.

What does hands-on training look like at NAIMA Vancouver?

NAIMA's core injectables courses are built around supervised treatments on live cosmetic models that NAIMA provides. You inject, rather than only watch, with instructors giving real-time feedback in small groups set up to mirror a clinic.

Here is what the course pages state:

  • Neuromodulators Certification: a minimum of 13 procedures: 2 bunny lines, 2 lip flip, 3 frontalis lines, 3 glabellar lines and 3 crow's feet. A medical practitioner supervises as students perform injections.
  • Dermal Filler Certification: 10 syringes per student, with a minimum of 2 procedures each for lips, jawline, chin augmentation, smile lines, cheek augmentation and under-eye rejuvenation.
  • 8-Day Preceptorship Program: groups of 6 students across 3 training beds, 1:1 treatment that replicates a clinic environment.

You may also bring your own models to training, according to NAIMA's FAQ. If you know people who want treatment as a model, NAIMA's model call page explains the process. Being a model is not free, though NAIMA advertises savings of 50% or more, and each application is reviewed individually.

Which NAIMA pathway fits your goals?

Most Vancouver-area clinicians choose one of four routes, depending on their experience and what their clinic offers.

  1. New to injectables: start with the Neuromodulators Certification. It covers botulinum toxin products such as Botox, Dysport and Xeomin, with facial and muscle anatomy, product knowledge, safe injection practice and aftercare over 2 days.
  2. Already injecting neuromodulators: add the Dermal Filler Certification, then consider the Liquid Rhinoplasty or Russian Lips masterclasses.
  3. Want one structured program: the 8-Day Preceptorship Program combines Botox injectables, dermal fillers, PRP, fat dissolving injectables, and sales and consultation training, with 2-week breaks between modules.
  4. Building a regenerative or men's health service: look at the PRP, shockwave and men's health masterclasses covered in our PRP and men's health training guide.

What happens after you finish training?

After training, NAIMA graduates get a free graduate membership, and Preceptorship graduates may be considered for part-time clinic work. Neither replaces your own college requirements in BC.

  • Graduate membership: complimentary, with no membership fee. It includes a membership certificate, free access to NAIMA's virtual live training with a certificate of participation, the newsletter, and email updates on internships, job opportunities, model calls and promotions. It runs until the same month of the following year. Details are on the membership page.
  • Clinic pathway: the Preceptorship course page says graduates "may be eligible for part-time employment opportunities," starting at 1 day a week, at 3D Lifestyle clinics in Vancouver and Coquitlam, with a North Vancouver location planned. NAIMA's FAQ says about two in three students who complete the program work at 3D Lifestyle Clinics or affiliated partner clinics across North America, usually starting part-time. Employment is not guaranteed.

What should BC injectors know about advertising?

Advertising rules apply as soon as you promote your services. Federal law limits what anyone may say about a prescription drug in public advertising, and BC's physician college adds its own rules.

  • Botulinum toxin is on Health Canada's Prescription Drug List. Under Food and Drug Regulations section C.01.044, public advertising of a prescription drug may only mention its brand name, proper name, common name, price and quantity.
  • The CPSBC advertising standard allows before-and-after photos only with the patient's written consent for advertising use, and says physicians must not offer inducements such as prizes, gifts or gift certificates.
  • Nurses should check BCCNM for current advertising requirements.

Can nurses in BC inject Botox and fillers?

BCCNM says RNs, RPNs and LPNs may perform cosmetic injections under a client-specific order from an authorized professional who is present at the facility and immediately available. Nurses in these classes cannot give orders for medical aesthetic procedures themselves. Scope of practice is set by your regulatory college, so confirm with BCCNM before practising.

Can estheticians take injectables training and inject in BC?

NAIMA's courses are for licensed medical practitioners. In BC, the CPSBC states that estheticians or other non-regulated persons are not authorized to inject medicines such as Botox. A training certificate does not change that.

How do I find current Vancouver course dates?

NAIMA runs sessions in Vancouver regularly, and every NAIMA course and masterclass is offered there. Current dates are on the Vancouver course listing, or book a call with Admissions to choose your dates.

Do I need to bring my own models?

No. NAIMA provides live cosmetic models for the Neuromodulators Certification, the Dermal Filler Certification and the 8-Day Preceptorship Program. You may also bring your own models if you wish.

Do I need to travel from Victoria or Kelowna for every course day?

Each course runs over full training days at the Vancouver location, so most out-of-town clinicians plan to stay for the length of the course. Confirm your dates with admissions before booking flights, ferries or a hotel.
