Does NAIMA offer Botox (neuromodulator) training in Kitchener?
Yes. Every NAIMA course and masterclass is offered in Kitchener, Ontario, including the Neuromodulators Certification. Your venue details are confirmed when you book. Sessions run regularly; current options are on the Kitchener course listing.
NAIMA, the North American Institute of Medical Aesthetics, is a Canadian training institute that reports 15,000+ graduates, lists 22 instructors and trains in seven cities: Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Kitchener and Regina. It trains nurses, physicians, dentists and other licensed professionals in injectables, men's health and aesthetics.
For clinicians in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Stratford, London, Brantford and Hamilton, the appeal of training in Kitchener is being closer to home than the GTA, which can mean fewer hours lost to travel around shifts and clinic days. If your timing does not match a Kitchener session, NAIMA's Toronto location at 5 Clarence Sq is the in-province alternative; see Toronto vs Kitchener-Waterloo.
What does botulinum toxin training cover?
The course combines theory with supervised injecting over an intensive 2-day session. It applies to the botulinum toxin products clinicians use, such as Botox, Dysport and Xeomin. NAIMA's course page lists four components:
- Theory and technique: neuromodulator injections, face and muscle anatomy, product knowledge, safe injection practice and aftercare instruction.
- Hands-on practice: a medical practitioner shadows students, so you perform injections rather than only observe.
- Procedures: a minimum of 13.
- Expert guidance: instructors give oversight and real-time feedback throughout.
Practical work happens in small groups with one-to-one treatment, set up to mirror an aesthetic clinic. For a closer look at how the two days are structured, see NAIMA's post Neuromodulator Training: What Happens on Day 1 vs. Day 2?
How many procedures do you perform on live models?
At least 13, on live cosmetic models that NAIMA provides. The minimum breaks down by treatment area as follows:
Treatment area | Minimum procedures |
|---|---|
Bunny lines | 2 |
Lip flip | 2 |
Frontalis lines | 3 |
Glabellar lines | 3 |
Crow's feet | 3 |
Total | 13 |
NAIMA's FAQ also says students may bring their own models to training. After the course, graduates can practise a learned modality by bringing models to a 3D Lifestyle Clinic, only under an expert medical practitioner's supervision.
How much does Botox training cost in Kitchener?
Tuition for the Neuromodulators Certification is CAD $2,500, as listed on the course page. Tuition is subject to change; confirm on your Admissions call.
Payment options NAIMA states:
- Pay upfront.
- Four bi-weekly instalments, per the NAIMA FAQ.
- Humm financing: up to $30,000 for tuition and materials, "0% interest rate on eligible loans," up to 5 years in equal monthly payments, and early repayment without penalty. Who can take Botox training, and who can inject in Ontario?
Licensed medical practitioners can enrol: NAIMA's FAQ names physicians, surgeons, nurse practitioners, RNs, LPNs, RPNs and internationally trained medical graduates, and its about page names dentists. Whether you can inject afterward is decided by your Ontario college, not by the course.
Botulinum toxin is on Health Canada's Prescription Drug List. In Ontario, the College of Nurses of Ontario's Aesthetic Services practice guideline says neuromodulator injections involve the controlled acts of "performing a prescribed procedure below the dermis" and "administering a substance by injection."
Profession | Cosmetic neuromodulator injection in Ontario |

Physician | Yes, within competence; CPSO delegation obligations apply when others inject |
Nurse practitioner | Yes, as an autonomous provider under CNO standards |

Client-specific orders for nurses. CNO has approved updated standards that require client-specific orders rather than directives for aesthetic procedures. According to the CNO release, the authorized provider first completes an initial client assessment, in person or virtual. Confirm the current requirements with CNO at cno.org before you set up your practice arrangement.
Physicians supervising nurse injectors. The CPSO requires a physician to assess a new patient before delegating, or within two business days of the delegate starting, and to be physically onsite to supervise unless an exception applies.
Scope of practice is set by your regulatory college. Confirm with your college before practising. For the profession-by-profession detail, read Who Can Inject Botox and Filler in Ontario?
Is the Neuromodulators Certification or the Preceptorship the better fit?
If you want neuromodulators only, start with the 2-day Neuromodulators Certification. If you want a broader foundation in one program, the 8-Day Preceptorship Program includes a Botox injectables module alongside dermal fillers, PRP, fat dissolving injectables, and sales and consultation training, delivered in modules with two-week breaks.
Neuromodulators Certification | 8-Day Preceptorship Program | |
|---|---|---|
Length | 2 days | 8 days, with 2-week breaks between modules |
Tuition (CAD) | $2,500 | $9,995 |
Level | Basic and Advanced | Advanced |
Scope | Neuromodulators | Neuromodulators, fillers, PRP, fat dissolving, sales and consultation |
Models | Provided by NAIMA | Provided by NAIMA; groups of 6 across 3 training beds |
NAIMA's FAQ says about two in three preceptorship graduates work at 3D Lifestyle Clinics or affiliated partner clinics across North America, usually starting part-time at one day a week; the course page says this is not guaranteed. Many clinicians add the filler course next; see our dermal filler course in Kitchener-Waterloo guide, or the Kitchener-Waterloo cornerstone guide for the full catalogue.
