What do you learn in a dermal filler course in Regina?
The Dermal Filler Certification teaches the anatomy, products and technique behind facial filler treatments, then has you inject under supervision. You do not only watch demonstrations.
The curriculum covers:
- Theory and technique: facial and muscle anatomy, product knowledge, safe injection practices and aftercare instructions.
- Hands-on practice: you inject under a medical practitioner's supervision rather than only observing.
- Practical procedures: a minimum of 2 each across six treatment areas.
- Format: small groups with 1:1 patient treatments.
Which treatment areas does the course cover?
You perform at least 2 procedures in each of six facial areas, using live models provided by NAIMA and 10 syringes per student.
Treatment area | Minimum procedures |
|---|---|
Lips | 2 |
Jawline | 2 |
Chin augmentation | 2 |
Smile lines | 2 |
Cheek augmentation | 2 |
Under-eye rejuvenation | 2 |
Covering all six areas in one course gives you a working base in common filler treatments. If you later want to focus on a single area, NAIMA's one-day Russian Lips Masterclass covers lip anatomy and hands-on lip filler technique, and the Liquid Rhinoplasty Masterclass (CAD $2,995) covers non-surgical nose refinement.
How long is the dermal filler course?
The Dermal Filler Certification is a 2-day course. Because it is a 2-day course, professionals travelling from Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Swift Current or Yorkton may want to book an overnight stay in Regina once their dates and venue are confirmed.
How much does a filler course cost in Regina?
Tuition for the Dermal Filler Certification is CAD $4,500. Tuition is subject to change; confirm with admissions.
Payment options:
- Upfront at enrolment.
- Four bi-weekly instalments, per NAIMA's FAQ.
- Humm financing up to $30,000 for tuition and materials, with 0% interest on eligible loans and terms up to 5 years. Humm confirms approval, rates and terms at application. Arrange financing with admissions, because online card checkout does not submit a Humm application (financing details).
NAIMA's refund policy gives a full refund for Certification Courses with written notice 30 days before the class starts. There is no partial refund policy, and you may reschedule to any course with 15 days' notice.
Should you start with Botox or filler?
Many injectors start with neuromodulators, then add filler. You can take either course first, and admissions can help you choose based on your background.
Neuromodulators Certification | Dermal Filler Certification | |
|---|---|---|
Length | 2 days | 2 days |
Tuition (CAD) | $2,500 | $4,500 |
Hands-on | Minimum 13 procedures | Minimum 2 procedures in each of six areas |
Product | Botulinum toxin type A (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin) | Dermal filler, 10 syringes per student |
Regulatory category | Prescription drug | Medical device |
Read the Botox training in Regina guide for the neuromodulator course. If you want both plus PRP, fat dissolving and consultation training, the 8-Day Preceptorship Program (CAD $9,995) includes a dermal fillers preceptorship module.
Who can inject dermal filler in Saskatchewan?
Filler injection in Saskatchewan is limited to regulated professionals working within their college's rules, and the rules for fillers are less settled than for botulinum toxin. Health Canada classifies dermal fillers as medical devices (Class III, or Class IV if they contain animal or human tissue), not prescription drugs (Health Canada guidance).
- RNs and NPs: the CRNS Aesthetic Nursing Resource says RNs may receive authority to administer injections from an authorized prescriber, and that RNs and NPs must complete the CRNS Confirming Nursing Practice process before engaging in aesthetic nursing (CRNS Aesthetic Nursing Resource). CPSS and CRNS have stated that a patient-specific prescription is required for each patient before an RN injects Botox or other bioactive agents. How that applies to fillers is not settled in the sources we reviewed, so confirm current requirements with CRNS/CPSS.
- Dentists: the CDSS standard on advanced facial esthetic therapies covers neuromodulators and does not name dermal fillers. Confirm with CDSS before offering filler.
- Pharmacists: SCPP says pharmacists are not authorized to administer injections for cosmetic purposes (SCPP guidelines).
- LPNs and RPNs: confirm current requirements with your college.
A NAIMA certificate is education; it does not by itself authorize injection. For the full profession-by-profession picture, read Who Can Inject Botox and Filler in Saskatchewan?
Scope of practice is set by your regulatory college. Confirm with your college before practising.
